Busch-Installationsbus® KNX comprises our solutions for building system technology.
As a worldwide standard, the system is very powerful, flexible and expandable and is particularly suitable as a new building solution for industrial, commercial or residential buildings.
With a KNX system, you can efficiently control the entire building - from lighting, to the indoor climate with heat and fresh air, to blind control, you can thus intelligently manage a wide range of functions in your building.
The various functions can be controlled conventionally using switches, sensors, control elements or a panel. And by integrating the corresponding series installation devices, you can control your building by voice and visualize and easily control it on your smartphone, tablet or smartwatch.

Features at a glance

  • Presence simulation
    The presence simulation simulates the presence of the residents by recording the daily routine of individual Smart Home components and playing it back in the desired time period. The function can be adjusted or deactivated at any time. Particularly practical when you are on holiday.
  • Individual scenes
    Presettings and the triggering of actions can be combined in individual scenes so that they can be called up at the touch of a button. For example, a living room can be prepared for a cosy evening of television within seconds - with the right lighting mood, lowered blinds, the ideal room temperature or even the right music.
  • Air conditioning & heating
    Thanks to the Smart Home System, the optimal room temperature can be controlled individually and according to actual needs. In this way, the temperature control can be adapted to the personal daily routine so that, for example, the bathroom is already preheated in the morning after getting up or not all rooms are heated during the day when you are absent.
  • Integration of warning detectors
    Smoke alarm, CO and heat detectors can be integrated into the Smart Home System to provide more security. In the event of an emergency, the system can automatically switch the lights of the escape routes to full illumination, open blinds for better orientation or, in the event of a CO alarm, ensure that the windows are opened electrically for immediate ventilation. Push messages can also be sent to a defined group of recipients.
  • Door Communication
    By integrating door communication into the Smart Home System, both solutions can be used together and functions can be combined. For example, the light can switch on when the doorbell rings so that visitors can be better recognised, or the video camera records images of missed visitors in front of the door for security purposes when they are absent.
  • Weather data integration
    With the integration of a weather station into the Smart Home system, functions can be triggered depending on the current weather conditions. In the event of wind and storms, the Smart Home automatically raises the blinds so that they are protected from damage.
  • Integration into Busch-Welcome®

What can I control in my building with KNX?

With a KNX system you can centrally control numerous functions in your building - such as blinds or the room temperature. You can not only switch the various functions on and off, but also add them to scenes or automations and control them precisely as needed.

  • Light control

    With the KNX standard you can control the lighting in the entire building. This allows you not only to switch on and off light sources in individual rooms, but also to dim or adjust the light color. The lighting can be switched manually, but also automatically - e.g. by movement or presence detectors.

  • Blind control

    With Busch-Installationsbus® KNX you can manage the control of your blinds. In addition to opening and closing the blinds or shutters, the adjustment of slats can also be automated. It also features window monitoring and with the integration of a weather station also shading control depending on weather conditions is possible. In addition the blind control can easily be automated depending on external factors, e.g. the weather or with a fixed time schedule. Therefore the blinds can be controlled according to sunrise and sunset.

  • Room climate

    With the various control elements and sensors for KNX, you can regulate the room temperature in your building and the single rooms individually and as needed - for example, depending on the time of day or based on presence.

How can I control my building with KNX?

The individual functions and automations within your KNX system can be switched manually by switch, via a panel or with an app on your smartphone or tablet. A panel serves as a central touch point in your building, so that you can manage not only a single room, but your entire building. With a corresponding gateway, you can also execute the functions by voice command.

  • Touch panel

    A touch panel offers you a central touch point in your building to control your KNX system. With the help of the panel you can control your entire building or individual rooms. This allows you to centrally control and manage various functions in one place. Our touch panels are available in different colors and sizes, whereby the user interface of the devices can be individually adapted to your needs.

  • Sensors

    With our sensors, such as Busch-Tenton®, you can not only trigger individual functions or scenes centrally in a room, but also control the room climate with the sensor.

  • Voice control

    A corresponding gateway (Busch-VoiceControl®) offers you the possibility to control your building by voice command with the digital voice assistants Apple HomeKit, Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. Whether switches, dimmers, blinds or thermostats - you decide which applications you want to operate with your voice. With the help of voice commands, your voice assistant controls the room temperature in your building, for example.

  • App control

    With a corresponding MDRC, you can also conveniently control your KNX system with a smartphone, tablet or smart watch. The operating concept of the app allows you to display individual operating pages with room images and operating elements. Thanks to the app, you can also access your building and the individual functions at any time while on the move.
    The app is available for both iOS and Android.

  • Light switch

    The individual functions in your building can also be triggered classically by a light switch on the wall. This allows you to switch lights on and off and dim them, but also to raise and lower your blinds and trigger automations. You can choose the light switch design individually from our wide range of designs and assign different functions to the rockers.
